Since August 2022 it is an offence to ignore a sign or verbal instruction not to enter your property.
By displaying a sign telling salespeople they are not welcome on your property you remove any licence they would otherwise have to approach your front door. This change has been well publicised and professional doorknockers will be well aware that if they ignore your sign they may face a substantial fine under the Fair Trading Act.
Simply place your sign somewhere where it is clearly visible on the approach to your door and you should be covered and salespeople will be required to try somewhere else.
